When Chelsea came to us she was nuthin more than a squirt.
We promptly christened her "The Dweeb" and she quickly found her place at the very bottom of
the Dubin Farms' Totem Pole. She couldn't saddle her own horse, there was no way she could mount by herself, and when she loped, or should I say TRIED to lope, she leaned back so far her pony tail hit her horse's fanny!!!!
We actually had a HUGE celebration the first time Chels and Farley made it all the way around the show pen at a lope without breaking !!!!!! That being said.....................She's come a long way baby!!!
Chelsea set her goals HIGH in 2007.
She decided she wanted to earn a spot on the APHA 13 and Under Top 20 list AND be the #1 Youth Rider in Zone 8.
Her Mom and Dad knew it would be a tough nut to crack, but they grit their teeth and we hit the road!
Trust me when I tell you, when that kid sets her mind to something she makes it happens or she wears EVERYONE out trying!!!
In 2007 Chelsea and Farley were #9 on the APHA Top 20 list and #1 in Zone 8.
She also won her first trophy saddle. Wooo Woooo!!! And Oh Yeah, let's not forget a couple of World Championships at The Pinto World Show!!!!
So, I thought we would take it easy this year. Boy was I wrong.
Chels has decided to show TWO horses this year. I get tired just thinking about it!
She has a new 14-18 gelding, Mr Go Getter. At their first show this year they were the High-Point 14-18 team with Circuit Championships in several events.
And she certainly won't let go of Farley. At the same show she rode Farley in the Open HUS, WP, HUS, Trail, and Barrels and she won the Open High-Point Award with him.
Heaven only knows what she has in mind for the rest of the year!!!!
